Medicare Part D
Medicare's Prescription Drug Plan started January 1, 2006. Private companies provide these Part D drug plans.
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan and want Medicare Part D, some MA plans require you to buy it only from them. Other plans let you choose another option with a different company. However, if your MA plan doesn't allow you to take a Part D plan from another company, you could be kicked off your drug plan & health plan. If you have a Medicare Supplement, you can pick from several companies marketing it for the government.
You do not have to switch to a Medicare Advantage plan to participate in the Medicare Drug Program. You can stay with your Medicare Supplement plan if you like and choose a Drug Plan from companies offering the plan.
Brindle Insurance Group markets several of the available Medicare Part D Drug plans.
